Friday, September 9, 2022 –Former Starehe Member of Parliament Maina Kamanda has pointed an accusing finger at the outgoing president Uhuru Kenyatta for failing Raila Odinga in the just-concluded general election.
Addressing the election matter for the first time since their Azimio lost to William Ruto, Kamanda argued that Uhuru has been a drunk man who never had any leadership skills to make firm decisions that could propel Odinga and the rest of the Azimio la Umoja team to power.
A visibly agitated Kamanda who has been a fierce critic of William Ruto now seemingly softening his stance, added that was it not for alcohol, today the country would be headed in the right direction.
And According to the former nominated MP, alcohol took a toll on the outgoing head of State hence the current difficulties the country is facing today.
“That alcohol did not take this country to the correct path…Ruto does not drink alcohol and will take the country on the correct path. Reduce alcohol intake because alcohol is not good,” stated Kamanda in a video doing rounds on social media.
His remarks came just a day after President-elect William Ruto urged youthful Members of Parliament to quit or reduce alcohol intake.
“I want to tell the young leaders that have been elected. Part of the job that I have and I have told my deputy Rigathi Gachagua and leaders here; part of the job is to mentor young people. I call some and caution them against liquor. It sometimes looks rude bad it is for their own good” Ruto stated.
The President-elect added that he will be on the fore-front to nature young men and women to follow the right direction so that to save this nation from drowning.
