Tuesday, July 12, 2023 –Opposition honcho Raila Odinga has canceled the Kamukunji Rally which he was scheduled to grace today Wednesday July 12.

Addressing from somewhere in Nairobi amid intensified protests around the country, Mr. Odinganoted that his supporters were being provoked at the Kamukunji Grounds venue hence need to restraint and restrategise.

He, however, warned the William Ruto-led government against attempting to take power from the people who only donated it to them.

Raila, therefore, firmly stated that people will not relent in taking back their power should this regime not stop forcing on them laws that do not exist in the Constitution.

He pointed out how Ruto was hellbent on killing democracy as well as ignoring the rest of the country while running the country.

“There is no moving on until Mr. Ruto comes out clear on reinstatement of fired IEBC commissioners.

“And until the country has a bipartisan approach of reconstituting the new IEBC, There will be no turning back,” he warned.

Mr Odinga asked the head of State to openly commit himself to respecting the rule of law and democracy fought for many years back.

“Kenyans will not accept a revers to the past.

“We have been baptised by fire in the past and we are ready to soldier on no matter what it takes. We have been through trial by fire before,” Odinga added.

Speaking miles away from Meru County, Narc-Kenya Party leader described their ongoing protests as a sensitization effort to make every Kenyan know that power belongs to them and not the executive.

The politician told news reporters that, across the country, Kenyans are coming out in huge numbers in protest of poor governance from this regime.

“Now everybody knows that sovereignty belongs to the people. No body in our camp has used the youth badly,” she claimed.

On carpooling as announced recently by her party leader Raila, she said, as Azimio leaders, they have been carpooling by using a single car, sometimes.

Ms Karua seized the opportunity to ask every Kenyan to come out as they struggle to liberate the nation back to its lost glory.

She added that, in Azimio coalition, they had promised citizens, free education to every body who wants to go to school same as improved health services.

Earlier on in the day, Ms Karua, Jeremiah Kioni and Peter Munya were chased out of Meru Town by the police where the politicians wanted to address supporters.
