Thursday, April 20, 2023 –Azimio la Umoja-One Kenyan Coalition leader Raila Odinga lost trust of foreign powers at the very last hour to the polls.
His Chief Agent Saitabao Ole Kanchory has detailed intriguing revelations on how Raila remained the most favourite candidate of the West but, along the way, he started ignoring both their intel and demands what led them to switch camps to a soft powered Kenya Kwanza wing.
In his memoir, Why Baba Is Not the 5th, Lawyer Kanchory claims that Mr. Odinga, who was surrounded by allies like Makau Mutua, Junet Mohamed and CS Joe Mucheru was too hard to take any advice from any other person unless it came from the three.
“We could not have lost this election if it weren’t for three people. The first one is Junet Mohamed, the second is Joe Mucheru and the third is Makau Mutua. These are people I have worked with and respect but in terms of responsibility, they take the highest responsibility,” he said on NTV.
He tried to pump sense into Odinga on why it was riskier for the manual register to be used in the elections and further went on to raise pertinent issues following the red flags at the IEBC, but Raila remained lackluster in nature until it became a case of ‘too late too little’.
The book adds that the Western powers, through their diplomats, wanted Mr. Odinga in office by all means possible but he then let them down by not being a friendly man; in contrast, Ruto would jump into the opportunity and agreed with anything they wanted.
“Some of the warnings on IEBC that Baba ignored reportedly came from highly-placed sources at some of the top foreign missions.
“This is why it is hard to believe that there was a general conspiracy against Baba among the international community,” Kanchory wondered why Raila alleged that foreign powers backed Ruto.
He describes Ruto as a serial opportunist who took advantage of their weaknesses in Azimio and quickly turned them into his campaign strength.
And assisted by the Americans, therefore, Ruto quickly rendered the Supreme Court and the IEBC completely powerless and ended up capturing office.
