Sunday, September 26, 2021 -Kieni Member of Parliament Kanini Kega and Lakipia Woman Representative Catherine Waruguru were yesterday involved in a public spat over the rise of fuel prices.
The two legislators engaged each other during a burial service where Catherine popularly known as Cate slammed Kega for failing to use his close relationship with President Uhuru Kenyatta to fix the rising cost of living in the country.
“If you speak to the President often, why don’t you tell him that things are bad and the cost of gas and fuel is very high,” Waruguru said.
But Kega told the Laikipia MP that its not a prerogative of the president to check the cost of living in any country, instead Members of Parliament MPs are largely responsible.
“Let’s be problem solvers. Solutions are made in parliament and not in public functions like burials,” Kega said.
Kega is the current Parliamentary National Budget Committee Chairman also a close ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
