Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya co-principle Martha Karua has added her voice to Jeremiah Kioni’s prediction that talks at Bomas of Kenya could end no where.
In an open defense of Mr. Kioni, today Sunday September 24, the Narc-Kenya Party leader observed that Jeremiah Kioni’s recent views on the ongoing bipartisan dialogue were within his rights.
She also faulted Azimio Secretariat Spokesman Makau Mutua for his calls to oust Kioni from the dialogue table at the Bomas of Kenya.
“The best proof that talks will go anywhere is results,” Karua responded to Makau.
Subsequently, the former running mate to Mr. Odinga said time to achieve desired results is now running out and, therefore, hope to lower the cost of living in the country is quickly dwindling by day.
“Sixty days are almost over and the cost of living skyrocketing, time will tell,” Ms Karua also said.
Yesterday Saturday September 23, Raila’s close ally Prof Makau Mutua made a controversial tweet asking the embattled Jubilee Party Secretary General to vacate his position in the committee.
Prof. Makau argued that the continued actions by Kioni to demean the ongoing dialogue meant he cannot be trusted to remain in the team.
Kioni is currently the official legal advisor for Azimio la Umoja in the dialogue committee sittings held at the Bomas of Kenya.
He is being accused by a section of both Azimio and government allied politicians for claiming that the exercise is a complete wastage of time and resources.
Kioni noted that, could he be in a position of Mr. Odinga, the Bomas exercise would have stopped long ago.
