Sunday, March 19, 2023 –Narc-Kenya Party leader Martha Karua has cautioned Kenya Kwanza leadership against attempting to picket outside her home.
Taking to her socials on Sunday March 19, Ms Karua noted with concerns that it will be totally against the law for anyone to protest outside other people’s homes since the Constitution prohibits such actions.
She described United Democratic Alliance UDA Party Secretary General Cleopahs Malala’s attempts to divert attention of the country from real issues as dead on arrival.
“Ignorance of the law is no defense. You can demonstrate or picket on public spaces and offices, or on employers’ premises but any uninvited procession to a private space is actionable trespass,” she tagged the Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI.
Karua also took issue with the police for attempting to stop the planned demonstrations of Monday March 20.
“The law does not confer any powers on the police to decide whether a demonstration satisfies an imagined threshold. Their sole duty once notified is to maintain law and order, not to disrupt the same,” she wrote.
UDA Sec-Gen, Malala, today Sunday announced plans to lead their supporters tomorrow to the doorsteps of Azimio leaders – Raila, Kalonzo, Karua, and Wamalwa. He also urged the police to offer them enough security.
Meanwhile, Azimio la Umoja supporters living in the United Kingdom UK have planned to demonstrate outside the Kenyan High Commission in London in solidarity with their opposition comrades back home in Kenya.
