Thursday, November 16, 2023 –Narc-Kenya Party leader Martha Karua has claimed that the Bipartisan talks are failing.
In that respect, she announced the return of street demonstrations saying that is the only remaining option for Kenyans.
She added that there is high likelihood that the ongoing National Dialogue is collapsing as the cost of living remains the main agenda in Azimio camp.
“The cost of living will be dealt with by our sovereignty. Hata kama tutasafirishwa mbinguni we are going to bite the bullet. Should the talks fail as they are likely, we are going to go back to the streets and exercise our full civil and human rights to the conclusion,” announced Karua in a Party meeting she held in her backyard, today.
The Azimio la Umoja co-principal went ahead to urge their supporters from all over the country to join hands so that to help restore sanity in the country.
“We’ll go back to the streets if the Bipartisan Talks fail. That one we can assure,” she affirmed.
The co-principal in Azimio revisited the cost of living matter saying this remains their key agenda in the talks.
“We want services when we go to the hospitals. Cost of fuel created by the additional tax of eight percent should be removed which will help cost of fuel stabilise. Currently, the taxes in Kenya are feeding corruption not the services,” Ms Karua noted further.
The politician added that the current taxes have trebled; this having been confirmed by the controller of budget Dr Margaret Nyakango who recently told the Parliament that Kenya is currently paying loans which did nothing to the country.
Ms Karua and her Narc-Kenya Party fraternity used the opportunity to clarify that they still remain in Azimio coalition.
She added that Narc-Kenya meeting are only meant to prepare for the next general election just like other parties are doing.
