Kega, Chege Describe Uhuru’s NDC as Inconsequential

Monday, May 22, 2023 –East African Legislative Assembly EALA MP Kanini Kega has described Mr. Uhuru Kenyatta’s today’s Jubilee Party delegates meeting as inconsequential.

He also added that their expulsion from the party by Kenyatta was part of the wishful thinking from the part of former President.

Addressing the press moments after being expelled in a meeting chaired Kenyatta at Ngong Racecourse, MP Kega termed the meeting as a mere ‘political rally and usual theatrics’ of a drowning animal.

“You will recall that the National Disciplinary Committee found Jeremiah Kioni and David Murathe guilty of indiscipline as per the decision that was ratified by the National Executive Committee NEC that sat on May 19 effectively expelling them from the membership of the party,” MP Kega said in a statement.

He also said, Uhuru ceased being Jubilee Party leader when he retired from office and, thus, he cannot purport to wield powers which the Constitution does not give him.

“It is unfortunate that he has defied a legitimate position of the party organ…such impunity is unacceptable and illegal and taints the reputation of the office of the retired president,” Mr. Kega added.

Arguing they are the bonafide officials, Kega and Sabina Chege noted they will not hesitate to take further disciplinary action against Kenyatta as well as Mr. Jeremiah Kioni so that to restore Jubilee Party’s glory.

Kega who was flanked by other supporters, claimed that only four elected MPs out of 34 showed up at Uhuru Kenyatta’s meeting held at Racecourse on Monday May 22.

He, therefore, prepared his faction for another separate National Delegates Conference NDC to be announced soon.
