Kenya is preparing its own Covid vaccine, Kagwe

Government of Kenya is working on a homemade Covid-19 vaccine with hopes that it will be ready soon for human consumption.

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe who was clarifying on his recent outburst over the Pfizer Vaccine from America, said Kenya was aware of other players ready to supply the vaccine but that will not be rushed into.

He divulged that together with United Kingdom UK, the Uhuru Kenyatta administration was working day and night to create their own drug which will be safe and reliable.

“Kenya itself is committed to finding a vaccine. We will not jump at any vaccine. We want a scientific and educated move. We are not being ignorant but cautious as a country,” Mutahi told the media.

He was speaking this just a day after receiving a backlash over his recent utterances in which he rebuked any attempts to import a vaccine citing doubts.

The CS, in the video, observed that he could not understand how a vaccine is developed in the first place and also how it works to help protect human body from viral attacks.
