Dennis Oliech’s brother Kevin Oliech Opiyo has succumbed to Cancer virus.
According to reports reaching Homenews.co.ke desk, the former Harambee Stars forward died in Germany on Sunday August 16.
Details show that the 1986 born footballer who is now 34 died while admitted in the European nation. Family spokesperson Nixon Oliech further disclosed that he had been suffering from cancer now for the fourth year.
Kevin is the younger brother to Dennis Oliech one of the finest successful Kenya’s Harambee Stars player also former international who used to score goals on the pitch at will.
He is also the brother to Andrew Oyombe; a family known to be the greatest in Kenya in terms of talent in football.
Following the sad report which emerged on Sunday August 16th evening, football lovers took to twitter to pour out their heartfelt condolences to the family which also lost their mother two years ago over similar cancer claims.
“May your soul rest in peace Kevin Opiyo Oliech,” wrote Newton Juma.
“Condolences to the family and friends of Kevin Oliech…R.I.P,” shared Ogutu Norbert.
Kevin also played for Kenyans Premier League side Mathare United, Nairobi City Stars, Ulinzi Fc, Ushuru Fc and finally Tusker before he toured abroad for further international football assignments.
He first featured in Harambee Stars in 2005 when the team was under Coach Twahir Muhiddin who made him appear for World Cup Qualifiers 2005.
Kevin has died just two years after their mother Mary Auma Oliech famously known as Mama Oliech also succumbed to Cancer. She was popular through her Mama Oliech fish joint in Dagorreti Corner Nairobi.
Kevin’s brother Dennis Oliech, before he retired, was a talented and lethal hitman who gave defenders a hard time when it came to outwitting them on the pitch.
