Wednesday, September 27, 2023 –Detectives have finally managed to arrest the main suspect in the murder of Nairobi Hospital Acting Finance Director Eric Maigo has been arrested.
The suspect identified as Ann Adhiambo Akinyi has been on the run since last week Thursday after allegedly committing the heinous crime at the residence of the financier.
She was today Tuesday arrested in Kibra in an intelligence-led operation by Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI detectives.
The suspect is currently being held at the Muthaiga Police Station in Nairobi awaiting transfer to Kilimani Police Station which is handling the matter.
Preliminary investigations Maigo established that the victim was stabbed 25 times on the morning of Friday, September 15, 2023.
Immediately, the suspect was seen in videos attempting to escape from the victim’s residence at Woodley Annex–Upper by scaling through the perimeter wall.
DCI would reveal that the images of the suspect shared across the internet on Thursday had led to the recovery of the same clothes she wore on the day Eric was killed.
The clothes were recovered from her at Bombolulu Village in Kibra.
Though unconfirmed, a further probe would later reveal that the suspect is aged between 15-17 years,
Another suspect, Cynthia Lusega Andalo, was previously arrested and arraigned in connection with the gruesome murder.
She was, however, freed by court after the prosecution said they had no evidence to charge or even continue detaining the alleged suspect.
