Monday, August 9, 2021 -Another middle aged man has been murdered following the recent killing of Wafula Wamunyinyi’s Personal Assistant Peter Ochieng ‘Storm’ in Bungoma County.
News reaching Homenews.co.ke now confirm that a crucial witness who had already handed police the names of those involved in the killing of Ochieng was, over the weekend, also attacked by machete-wielding gang who chopped off his body parts and left him to die by himself. On the other hand, his family including wife Bridget Wafula was hit hard in the face and had her arm cut. She didn’t die but she is currently admitted in a Bungoma hospital after sustaining critical injuries.
The 35 year old Edward Maruti was killed when the men ambushed him at home with an aim of silencing him over Wamunyinyis PA murder case.
Kimilili OCPD Mwita Marwa reported that the victim was playing a key role in unearthing those who killed the PA.
“The victim knew two of the suspects who killed Peter Ochieng alias Storm, and had given us the names of the two. Investigations are ongoing to nab the two who are well known by residents here (Bungoma County),” OCPD Marwa remarked.
And commending on the murder, Wamunyinyi has maintained that the murder of his people was politically connected.

Wamunyinyi and Ford Kenya Party leader Moses Wetang’ula are currently embroiled in party leadership politics amid political parties funds which the 2017 NASA coalition also wants to share. It is however not clear if this could be the main reason for the lawlessness.
The diseased – Edward Maruti – has left behind two children aged seven and four years old respectively.
