Thursday, January 19, 2023 –A daughter in Kiambu County squandered all her mother’s fortunes on alcohol, partying and good cars. Details have emerged.
The Mother, Jane Wambui Mburu, 42, who nine years ago, traveled to Saudi Arabia to look for a job to take care of the family back in Kenya, used to send monthly money which was meant to help feed her family as well as save the remaining for long term goals, just found out that the daughter chose to misuse everything.
In a detailed story shared by one Derrick Mbugua on Wednesday January 18, the mother was in Saudi Arabia for a total of nine years and, during that time, she used to sent her daughter some cash to be used to take care of her younger brother as well as rent them a house in Kiambu Town.
“Nine years I have been sending money to my daughter and she kept assuring me that the money was very safe in her account almost sh 2 million. After coming back in December, I realised she looked very worried and disturbed,” she added.
While still in Saudi Arabia, the daughter, Hottensia, would keep assuring the mother that all was well and that any extra money was safe in her account.
But when the mother returned to Kenya, she was shocked to find out that the purported account was nonexistent and the daughter was driving a pricey Mazda car.
“I came back because I couldn’t continue staying and working in Saudi Arabia due to my age and nature of work,” read part of the Facebook post as seen by this writer.
The distressed mother claims that her daughter spent the better part of her savings treating her friends. And to add to the woes, the daughter placed a sh 500,000 deposit to acquire a sh 1.25 million car on loan.
“The company has told me to deposit sh 380,000 for them to give back the car . I am so stressed and depressed schools are opening sina fee. I had planned to start business here in Kiambu and also pay school for my children, as we speak even money to buy food is a problem,” she stated.
The remaining balance of sh 750,000 was supposed to be paid in 12 monthly installments of sh 62,500 each.
