Sunday, April 3, 2022 –Ex-Nairobi County Governor Evans Kidero has decided to run independently after Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party rejected his presence.

Making the announcements on Saturday April 3, the politician noted that his desire to govern his people will not just die because of small differences with his ODM Party leadership.

When ODM boss Raila Odinga was for Wanga’s 2022 gubernatorial ambition.

He added that after ODM Party leader Raila Odinga issued a direct ticket to a Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga, he had no other alternative left for him but to go independent.

“I have been inundated with calls, with people asking me to soldier on with my candidature.

“I am glad that you have re-affirmed here at Simbi Primary School grounds that you are ready to vote for me and Raila Odinga. The people of Homabay have not reaped the benefits of devolution despite receiving billions of shillings during the last 10 years,” Kidero stated.

Raila Odinga recently presented Ms Wanga with a nomination certificate after she had done consultations with rivals in ODM Party among the Minority leader John Mbadi who was also interested in the seat.

According to Mr. Kidero, locals were not considered when Raila made the ‘undemocratic move’ to hand Wanga a free ticket when there were other aspirants eying the same seat.

“As I welcome those who previously believed on the contrary opinion propagated by my former opponents into the Homa Bay race, I wish to let them know that all of us are members of Homa Bay County,” Kidero stated.

Kidero was the first Governor of Nairobi County and was trounced by Mike Sonko in the 2017 elections when he attempted to defend the seat.

He also has so many graft cases hanging on his shoulder.
