He squarely attributed the rise in wealth to his law firm which he said had made tremendous revenues in the few months he has been in government.

During his intense examination, and as the first nominee to face the panel, Kindiki clarified that he has never done any business deal with the State to make his wealth and he doesn’t intend to do so in future.

“The increase in my net worth comes primarily from my law practice. I have not engaged in any business with the government or applied for any tenders directly or indirectly,” he declared before the Wetang’ula led panel.

Kindiki told the panel that he had recovered a lot of monies from his clients who had not settled with him for a long time.

“None of my wealth has come from public funds except my official salary and allowances,” Kindiki emphasised.

Unlike now, during his first vetting, he had explained that his net worth of sh 544 million was comprised of land and buildings valued at approximately sh 165 million, along with bank deposits and investments in shares and various savings cooperatives amounting to around sh 50 million.
