Friday, April 29, 2022 –Amason Kingi-led Pamoja African Alliance PAA has written to the Registrar of Political Parties asking to quit Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition.
Making this confirmation today Friday April 29, Party leader also Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi said they had made the application so that to be allowed to peacefully exit their short time relationship with Azimio for reasons well known to everybody.
The Kilifi governor went on to argue in the notice seen by Homenews.co.ke that the coalition agreement in Azimio is completely opaque and shrouded in mystery.
Kingi further stated that, upto today, he had not been invited by anyone from the Azimio so that to get the clarification over the outstanding issues he had raised to his ODM Party boss Raila Odinga; what he reads as rejection.
“The PAA NEC in a meeting held on 25th April 2022 resolved that the ratification of the agreement signed on 5th April 2022 be and is hereby declined. Despite signing the agreement 20 days ago, no copies have been supplied,” PAA statement dated April 29 stated.
He has therefore indicated his willingness to join another rival political formation and most likely the William Ruto-led Kenya kwanza outfit which he has of recent shown interest in.
“PAA has never been and declines to be a member of Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Coalition Party,” the statement read on.
Apart from governor Kingi, other parties like Maendeleo Chap Chap of Dr. Alfred Mutua(Machakos) same to Wiper Democratic of Kalonzo Musyoka have been on record threatening to leave Azimio due to opaqueness.
Odinga’s Azimio coalition seem to be bedeviled by a myriad of challenges including their quest to unravel the running mate puzzle that might finally break the camel’s back.
