Tuesday, March 8, 2022 –Meru County Governor Kiraitu Murungi has finally joined Azimio la Umoja Movement today in a ceremony attended by Orange Democratic Movement ODM leaders.
The Devolution Empowerment Party leader finally made his mind saying his party members unanimously endorsed Raila Odinga’s presidency because they cannot afford to be in the opposition after the August 9 elections.
He explained that he reached the decision after carefully analyzing the dynamics which are all in favour of the Azimio founder Mr. Odinga.
“When we met in our NDC we all agreed that we cannot be in the opposition. We have done our analysis, we have done our research, and the next President of the Republic of Kenya is Raila Amollo Odinga,” he stated.
The Devolution Empowerment Party DEP boss made the announcement in a meeting attended by ODM leaders Junet Mohamed (Suna East MP) and Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya among many others.
Just recent, Kiraitu was on record faulting both Raila and William Ruto’s coalitions saying they both lack merit and purpose for the nation.
He went ahead to point out how the two leaders have been making empty promises to Kenyans without delivering any.
The Governor also castigated President Uhuru Kenyatta for endorsing Raila Odinga in the Sagana III convention that saw the head of State take open issue with his deputy William Ruto.
