Saturday, January 8, 2022 –Mwangi Kiunjuri has revived his fight with President Uhuru Kenyatta who sacked him from the cabinet a couple of years ago.
In an interview with Nation, Mr. Kiunjuri stated that his sacking was painful since he couldn’t understand what mistake or crime he had committed in government.
The Service Party TSP leader added that he lost a lot including experience when Uhuru decided to remove him from office prematurely.
“Sadly, it was a major loss, but again, it opened another opportunity because had I been serving in government, I would not have established TSP. So, count your blessings! Whenever one door closes, another opens,” he explained.
Kiunjuri still challenged the head of State to tell the country why he had to free him from duty since it is always good for everybody to know the truth rather than keeping it secrete.
“He has never told Kenyans why he fired me, meaning he has his own personal issues that he does not want to share with them.” Kiunjuri noted.
The former Agriculture cabinet secretary, however, clarified that he habours no bitterness against the president over the sacking.
“Up to date, he has respected me and I have respected him. I am not bitter. Let it be said that President Kenyatta stopped my bid to run for Governor of Laikipia, gave me work, fired me so that God’s ways and blessings could befall me,” he explained.
The party leader who was tasked by his host to tell whether his sacking had anything to do with his dalliance with the second in command said Ruto was and still is his friend.
During his time in office, Mr. Kiunjuri could publicly be scolded by the head of State; something that never went down well with him. Uhuru could publicly blame him for farmers and food problem in the country due to rampant corruption in the ministry.
