KTN’s Akisa Wandera Moves to BBC

Wednesday, February 9, 2022KTN News anchor Ms Akisa Wandera has, reportedly, joined the London-Based British Broadcasting Corporation BBC-Africa.

Akisa’s move to BBC was made public by close sources who sought anonymity and who divulged that she will  be making her debut on BBC screens very soon.

“She is moving to BBC and soon you will have the finer details of her move. The move is complete and she is happy,” the source said.

Ms Akisa first rose to KTN Prime News in the year 2018 after years of reporting from the field in many of early days’ assignments and roles.

“Tonight, I officially join the Prime Time desk. I’m yet to decide how I feel about it, but for now ..I feel thankful. Thank you for always being such a strong support system. See you at 9 o’clock,” she wrote then.

Akisa also wrote so many human interest, political and health articles in the sister paper The Standard.

Background check on our side established that before joining the Mombasa Road-based media house, Akisa had a brief stint at Ebru TV where she also hosted a viral talk-show dubbed the Tabletalk show.

The soft-spoken Akisa started her career training at the South B domiciled Kenya Institute of Mass Communication KIMC where she got her first Diploma before joining United States International University USIU-Africa for a Bachelors Degree in Journalism.

Her success to join BBC will see her profile even rise further; this being one of her lucky steps in her professional life.
