Thursday, July 15, 2021 -Firebrand Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has warned Jubilee rivals to keep off the ongoing by-elections or face the wrath.
In a terse and tension pact post on his Facebook on Thursday July 15 morning seen by homenews.co.ke, the Peoples Empowerment Party PEP leader cautioned Jubilee Party against meddling in the exercise lest them face the consequences from UDA supporters.
The Tanganga MP who withdrew his candidate – Mr. Raymond Kuria – to support Ruto’s UDA candidate John Maina Wanjiku warned four Jubilee leaders among them Majority leader Amos Kimunya and Sabina Chege not to blame him when he takes action.
“Amos Kimunya, Dennis Waweru, Sabina Chege and Jude Njomo, we have been asked as politicians to keep off the polling Centres. IEBC and Police are unable to remove you. Get out of polling Centres or do not blame me,” Kuria wrote.
His remarks on social media saw some tension surface in the area as rowdy youths chanted “Kimunya must go”. Kimunya had shown up at Cianda Ward.
According to other sources, they viewed the presence of the majority leader as another way of influencing the voters to support the Jubilee candidate Kariri Njama.
UDA and Jubilee parties are currently locked in a supremacy duel that pundits claim spills beyond confines of Kiambaa Constituency.
For instance, any win for UDA will have an increased positive impact for Deputy President William Ruto in Mt. Kenya Region while, on the other hand, any win for Jubilee will reignite the presence of Uhuru Kenyatta’s kingship in the vote rich region.
