Thursday, October 5, 2023 –Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria today graced a Trade function in Garissa County where he presided over groundbreaking ceremony for the Garissa County Aggregation and Industrial Park.
Kuria, who had earlier this week (on October 3), announced that he will be breaking ground for the said Industrial Park, today went on to preside over the function a day after he was reshuffled from the Trade and Industrialization docket.
“Caips Groundbreaking launch planning in progress. Preparations are underway for the groundbreaking ceremony for the Garissa County Aggregation and Industrial Park slated for this Thursday.
“The event will be graced by Governor Nathif Jama and CS Moses Kuria,” read his tweet dated October 3, 2023.
In the past two months, Moses Kuria has been busy moving from one county to another launching government projects that fall under his Trade office.
Speaking from Garissa County today Thursday, the Public Service Cabinet Secretary argued that he was ready to serve the country in any capacity.
“As you all know that there were Cabinet changes and the governor called me yesterday asking whether I would still come to preside over the function. I thought of sending the PS but he told me that for such a historic launch, I should be the one to attend. I made the decision to come at once,” Kuria said.
The yesterday transfers saw Mr. Kuria moved to Public Service Ministry as his place was taken by East Africa Community EAC CS Rebecca Miano.
“I will be in the Public Service docket, handling service delivery, and performance contracts. But even if I was given the Gender docket, I would still do it exceptionally, because all Kenyans need effective service delivery,” confirmed Kuria.
Taking stock of his achievements for the 12 months he has been in the Trade docket, the CS said, he had so far launched 15 industrial parks, countrywide.
He also added that, within the 12 months of service in Ruto’s administration, he has signed bilateral deals that will bring this country huge economical changes and benefits in the near future.
Kuria, just like other reshuffled CSs, is yet to officially hand over the Trade and Industrialization office to his successor, Miano.
Others who were transferred to different dockets include Alice Wahome – Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Developments, Zacharia Njeru – Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation, Peninah Malonza – Ministry of East African Community, The ASALs and Regional Developments, Dr. Alfred Mutua – Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife among others.
