Sunday, June 25, 2023 –Nairobi lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has responded to threats by Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha to clear cartels from the health sector.
Taking to his socials on Sunday June 25, the lawyer laughed off Nakhumicha’s promise to deal with cartels saying it portrays a cabinet secretary who is not prepared to deliver.
“If you hear someone in a position of authority in Kenya blaming “cartels” for the rot/corruption in his area of jurisdiction, then that blame game tell you two things about that person.
“Either the person is incompetence and clueless and uses the phrase “cartels” as shield or that person is still undecided about which of the many cartels to join or patronize,” the lawyer claimed.
Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha, on Sunday June 25, speaking at Sirende Catholic church during fundraising for Sirende Mission Hospital, promised to crash cartels at KEMSA and NHIF as the government continues to clean the graft-ridden Ministry of Health.
“I will work so well but I need your prayers. I have started with KEMSA where theft was rampant but my broom is sweeping so fast. In few months, KEMSA will be very clean and; secondly, my target is at NHIF.
“NHIF helps so many people but a few officials are messing it up. I will be there shortly and you may see the results as well,” she added.
The CS vowed not to fear anybody, especially cartels who want to sabotage her role at the health docket.
Ms Nakhumicha said she will deal with anybody despite their status in the society as long as they are involved in the mess at the ministry.
