Friday, December 24, 2021 -Lawyer Ahamednasir Abudullahi has differed with Deputy President William Ruto’s allies over popularity.
The renowned lawyer on Thursday December 23 tweeted about Ruto’s current standings in politics saying though the second in command could be having huge numbers than the rest of the presidential hopefuls, he can still lose to ODM’s Raila Odinga who is already becoming a threat by day.
He warned the UDA Party camp against viewing the gap between Ruto and Raila as a chance to relax and make merry.
“I refuse to subscribe to the notion advanced by some in Deputy President William Ruto’s camp that just because the gap between Ruto’s estimated votes and that of Raila is about 3million the task facing Raila is hopeless!
“With the resources of my beloved Jubilee at his disposal, Raila has a fighting chance!” he said in a tweet.
This remark was in sharp contradiction to his earlier assertions that Odinga had been vanquished by the entrance of William Ruto into the presidential race.
Nasir has had an opinion that the truce between ODM Leader and President Uhuru Kenyatta, through the March 2018 historic Handshake, had badly weakened Raila’s political dominance in the country.
“Raila is not the potent political force he was prior to the handshake. The handshake damaged him a lot, he became a poodle and a stooge,” he said in a past Tv interview.
In recent opinion polls conducted by renowned Political Analyst Mutahi Ngunyi, Raila managed 40.4 percent while Ruto was at 45.4 percent.
