Tuesday, February 7, 2023 –Nairobi Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi now wants President William Ruto to arrest Raila Odinga for creating disruptions through his political rallies.
Nasir took to his socials to challenge the head of State William Ruto to be the first president to arrest Raila saying the opposition leader had been allowed for far too long to claim notoriety and run away with it.
He added that the opposition leader is nolonger the powerful man he used to be some decades ago and, therefore, he can be handled just like any other civilian and the country will still go on.
“Of course, Hon Raila isn’t strong enough to overthrow the govt of the day. But since the criminal law is inapplicable to Warlords of his stature, he is strong enough to checkmate the state outside the realms of the law. It’s high time the law is enforced no matter the consequences,” he noted.
The city Lawyer on January 30 challenged the government to take the bull by its horns and crack the whip against the ODM leader.
He confidently said its time the former PM’s political antics of holding the government hostage whenever he loses elections are brought to a sudden stop.
“Since 1997, every electoral reform in Kenya has been at the behest and agitation of Hon Raila. Not because he wants a system that delivers a free and fair election, but because of his relentless pursuit of that elusive formula that will deliver State House,” the lawyer wrote.
Abdullahi added that, arresting Raila will not create any tension as some quarters believe but, instead, it will be a learning point for most opposition politicians who are disrespectful to the government.
Ahmednasir further complained that the president is yet to take his advice on how to deal with the country’s opposition which is, slowly and gradually, turning out to be a security threat.
He wants Inspector General of Police IG Japhet Koome to handle those who are breaking the law of the land when the country direly needs to move forward with other important matters.
