A Nairobi Lawyer has accused a Nakuru judge of doubting his(lawyer) health after he(lawyer) applied for an adjournment over health challenges.
Lawyer Donald Kipkorir has today taken to his socials with a hard-hitting statement on why the unnamed judge in Nakuru Labour Court could doubt him when he(Kipkorir) asked for an adjournment in the case he is representing a client.
“I have been practicing law for over Thirty Years & I have hardly asked for adjournment in cases. If I do, it is for a good reason, since Tuesday, I have been unwell.
“I had a hearing today in Nakuru Employment Court. I asked my Associate to apply for adjournment due to my indisposition”.
In a statement issued by the lawyer over the matter, the Trial Judge asked that he files his medical records before the next hearing date; what the lawyer has described as absurd since this is the first time in his legal career that a Trial Judge has questioned his application.
“For a Judge to imagine I may be lying I am unwell is beyond the pale. You think I want to be sick? I have never even once heard a lawyer demanding the medical report of the other lawyer when they say they are unwell.
“And Judges tell us they are indisposed & we don’t demand of them medical reports. I reserve my right to institute complaint against the Judge for such egregious conduct,” added Kipkorir.
Lawyer Kipkorir is a wealthy lawyer who is also well-known in the political arena of the country. He has been close to both Hon. Raila Odinga as well as President William Ruto throughout their political journey.
