Sunday, December 19, 2021 –KTN Tv news reader Linda Ogutu is off duty on a sabbatical leave. She made the announcement on Sunday December 19.
Though it is still not clear why she had decided to take the leave, some sources link it to new year celebrations while some sources privy to the happenings within the Standard Group leaked that her bosses could not agree with her new role at the Football Kenya Federations FKF where she landed a job in the newly formed caretaker committee.
“I have taken a sabbatical leave from the Standard Group Limited to serve in the FKF Secretariat. Tukutane kwa futa (Let’s meet in the field). And mask up and get vaccinated… Hii Covid haitaki mchezo (Covid is no joke),” she updated.
The voluptuous Ogutu and her colleague Robin Toskin were among the lucky media personalities who landed a role with the sports caretaker committee as was recently constituted by Cabinet Secretary for Sports Amina Mohammed.
She will be serving the committee for a period of six months in the capacity of head of mission while Robin who is head of sports desk at Standard Group and who also host Sports Chat show on KTN Tv News is also off duty from the newsroom for similar reasons.
New FKF caretaker committee fell in place after embattled President Nick Mwendwa was embroiled in a court tussle with government over lost public millions. He would shortly resign citing frustrations. The current interim committee is chaired by Retired Justice Aaron Ringera.
