Friday, August 18, 2023 -Embattled Senator of Uasin Gishu had to escape from irate locals when he attempted to resurface days after leaving police cells.
Senator Jackson Mandago today, while accompanying Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to a rally in Eldoret, met a hostile reception from crowd which chanted him down for about five minutes.
In a vedeo seen by Homenews.co.ke on Friday August 18 evening, the UDA Party politician was forced to dash back into his car as chants of ‘mwizi…mwizi’ rented the air.
Angry locals, while reminding him of the multimillion Finland/Canada scandal, pelted the former governor with stones and bottles; what forced his security detail to whisk and speed with him away before the worst could happen.
This happened when he accompanied Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua around Eldoret Town after closing the devolution conference.
Gachagua addressed the crowd on Friday, August 18, after his speech at the Devolution Conference 2023 that focused much on the opposition leader Raila Odinga who, yesterday, called out the American Ambassador Meg Whitman for her remarks on the last year general election. The DP reminded Odinga that he(Odinga) is a no body today and cannot, therefore, threaten to recall the U.S official.
