Sunday, January 29, 2023 –Former ICT Cabinet Secretary, Joe Mucheru, has landed a lucrative job with a UK-based organization.
Technology company JUMO which ficuses on building next-generation financial services for emerging market entrepreneurs, has hired the services of Mr. Mucheru as their President.
This new role six months after leaving office, will see the ICT professional support the company to deliver its growth goals across the continent.
Mucheru is also tasked with helping the organization navigate the regulatory landscape as well as make the firm’s brand popular in Africa.
“JUMO is revolutionising the lending space in Africa, connecting entrepreneurs and individuals to the financial products they need to grow and prosper.
“I am hugely excited to be joining a business that is helping capital providers make attractive returns at the same time as supporting measurable impact,” Mucheru disclosed.
The multimillion company is founded in London where it has managed to build an intelligent platform that helps banking institutions to access millions of clients with credit and savings products.
JUMO is focused on making it easier for capital providers – banks and other lending bodies – to reach new clients through affordable market activation exercises; while making predictable returns.
Mr Mucheru is the former Kenyan Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs appointed by then President Uhuru Kenyatta. He served between 2015 and 2022 in Jubilee government.
With him comes a wealth of government experience and indepth knowledge of Pan Africa tech which JUMO wants to make use of.
