Wednesday, August 17, 2022 –Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha had predicted a repeat election just a day after Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya leader Raila Odinga promised to challenge the recent Wafula Chebukati verdict.
Speaking about school calendar on Wednesday August 17 morning, the CS noted that any petition filed to challenge the presidential outcome may see the Superior Court order a re-run or a repeat election exercise.
This he said will be put into proper consideration so that to keep all learners safe as this goes on in a few days to come.
He indicated that there will be proper plans put in place to keep students in their schools even as election goes on so that not to interfere with school learning calendar, anymore.
“They (students) can be asked to play games and stay in their hostels,” he stated.
He has therefore said the school programme will resume on Thursday August 18, 2022 as had earlier been announced.
This is after his ministry pushed forward the date from Monday August 15 to Thursday August 18, 2022.
