Wednesday, January 25, 2023 –Magoha’s married Barbara Odudu Essien Magoha and together got one son, Michael Magoha, who is also in medicine profession.
Our background checks established that Barbara Magoha comes from Nigeria and, just like other family members, she is in medicine.
Prof Magoha and wife Barbara met at the University of Lagos where both were medicine students and decided to settle down in 1982.
Apart from being the official Honorary Consular of Mali in Kenya, she is also a lecturer at the University of Nairobi UoN.
The Standard reported that she currently works as a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at Kenyatta National Hospital KNH while at the same time lecturing at the University of Nairobi.
After her Degree at the University of Lagos, she went on to study and graduate with a Masters of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the University of Nairobi UoN.
Magoha and the wife had one son, Michael Magoha, an alumnus of Strathmore and Brookhouse schools who, unknown to many, graduated from the University of Nairobi’s School of Medicine in 2009.
Michael also pursued neurosurgery in 2011 and practises the same at the Kenyatta National Hospital KNH.
The late Magoha was pronounced dead on Tuesday January 24 afternoon after developing severe cardiac arrest barely two weeks after being hired by Maseno University as their professor of surgery at the institutions School of Medicine.
The professor, a former Education Cabinet Secretary in Uhuru Kenyatta’s government, will be remembered for his reforms in the education sector.
