Sunday, September 17, 2023 –Former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga has allegedly been abducted by unknown people within Kiambu Town.
Lawyer Ndegwa Njiru noted that his client was abducted from his house in Kiambu on Saturday September 16 night.
“My client Maina Njenga has been abducted by the DCI from his house in Kiambu….He has been taken to an undisclosed location,” he posted on his X handle as seen by Homenews.Co.ke.
Njeru also added that it was saddening that days of detention without trial had returned and that the country was nolonger safe in the hands of the State. Adding that those who carried out the abduction were police officers on a certain mission.
“Good morning Kenya the days of detention without TRIAL and police abduction are here with us…..My client Maina Njenga is still missing. He was abducted by police whose Subarus had a South Sudan registration number…He was never booked in any police station,” he noted in another post seen on Sunday morning.
Further reports indicated that Njenga, the former Mungiki leader, is currently missing, and his family, represented by their lawyer Njiru, is unable to determine his whereabouts.

Additional Sunday morning reports claimed that he was reportedly abducted by State agents last night.
