Thursday, November 4, 2021 –The mother who Deputy President William Ruto, in July, bought some pieces of maize from while on his political tour in Machakos County now accuses him of using her for political reasons.
Disclosing her woes on Thursday October 4, Ms Elizabeth Mueni said all what Ruto promised her both in Machakos and at his Karen residence had not been fulfilled up to now.
She has sensationally blamed Ruto for not keeping his word despite preaching the Hustler narrative around the country.
In her tearful account, the middle aged mother claimed that she thought meeting the DP not only in Machakos but also at Karen Nairobi was a life changing stage and god-send what however now seems not to be the case.
“The time when I sold the Deputy President maize, it was my prayer that my situation was going to change abruptly. When I heard he was here, I knew it was the end of my life struggles,” Mueni stated.
Their viral meeting has, according to Mueni, made life even harder because of the perception everyone today has on her. That her neighboring cannot upto now believe she is still the same poor mother in the village.
She added that her efforts to get Ruto’s attention after he had promised her ‘some stuffs’ have constantly fallen on deaf ears and she is now on the verge of losing hope completely.
Mueni has gone further to try sending Ruto her photos with hopes the second in command would react but he has since remained silence.
Further her daughter who Ruto allegedly promised school fees is struggling at home even after she sent her to Karen to meet the DP so that she could explain her story in person.
“After a long wait, my daughter came back and told me there was no hope. She said that she would go back to Kisii to continue working as a house help, so that she can support me financially.
“I begged my daughter to wait but since there was no response, she gave up, and ran away from home to go continue working as a house girl,” Mueni emotionally narrated the development.
She is now calling upon the DP and his handlers to always remember that the Bottom Up gospel as preached by them needs to be practical especially to the few persons who have been promised anything by their camp.
“When I came to your home Ruto, you promised to change my life. You promised to take my daughter to school. You promised to build me a home. What happened? People laugh at me and I have even lost customers. My job is even worse than it was when I met you. Why can’t you help me?” she pleaded.
Mueni and Ruto’s July 2021 meeting caused a long social media topic for almost a week through video clips and photos that showed how the down-to-earth Ruto was meant to uplift the poor and the forgotten in the society through the Hustler’s Bottom Up economic model.
