Wednesday, July 19, 2023 –Mama Ngina Kenyatta’s State security is back at her homes in both Muthaiga and Ichaweri Gatundu.
The armed police officers were redeployed back to her homes hours after government had withdrawn them for unknown reasons.
The officers were recalled from her homes on Tuesday this week; what created anxiety among her supporters as well as political experts who warned government against taking that trajectory.
“Crowds are unreasonable. Today they will attack Mama Ngina in Muthaiga. Tomorrow they will look for YOUR mother wherever she will be. No difference between you and Uhuru. If you start this TREND, it will not STOP. Fight as MEN and leave our MOTHERS out of it. Please,” Mutahi Ngunyi appealed.
This quickly saw the Kenyatta family hire private services from private guard companies to take charge of the homes.
It happened immediately State General Service Unit GSU and the Administration Police AP had left her homes, unexplained.
Some news sources established that, in the absence of policemen, private guards had to be doubled at both homes.
The withdrawal was highly anticipated after some government officials accused former president Uhuru Kenyatta who is a son to Mama Ngina of funding the ongoing protests.
It would again emerge that a group within Nairobi dubbed Nairobi Traders was planning to march to her residences to pile pressure on her not to fund Raila.
