Tuesday, September 28, 2021 -A man is fighting for his life in Hospital after he broke both his limps and ribs while escaping police dragnet in an apartment in Embakasi, Nairobi.

A statement issued by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI revealed that Mr. Didmus Mong’are escaped death by an inch after he jumped from his kitchen balcony at Amani apartment in Embakasi and landed on the ground with a thump.

On the floor where he was lying helplessly, they discovered he had broken both his limbs and ribs and wreathing in pains.

The police Sgt(W) Rose Mwanzia and Cinstable Geoffrey Koros had to quickly change their mission and decided to rush him to Mama Lucy Hospital for an urgent medication.

“Sgt (W) Rose Mwanzia had stormed his house at 10am, accompanied by Constable Geoffrey Koros, to arrest him for obtaining money by false pretenses. However, in a bid to trick the officers, Mong’are emerged from his bedroom naked, prompting the officers to allow him time to dress up.
“But as fate would have it, after putting on a pair of denim pants and a checked shirt, Mong’are mischievously dashed to the kitchen and flew from the balcony! Determined to accomplish her mission, Sgt (W) Mwanzia, almost followed suit but when she saw the suspect writhing on the ground in pain, opted to take the flight of stairs three at one go to restrain the suspect,” DCI said in their update Tuesday tweet.

When he comes out of his hospital bed, police have said he will still have to face charges of acquiring money by false pretense against Section 313 of Penal Code.
