Matiang’i Breaks Silence after Death of his Security Aide and Wife

Wednesday, April 7, 2021 -Interior and Coordination of National Government Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i has responded to news about death of his officer.

On Wednesday April 7 morning, CS Matiang’i took to his social media platforms to mourn the diseased couple who took their own lives after a domestic squabble. He termed the tragedy as another blow to his staff.

According to confirmed reports, Mr. Hudson Wakise and wife Pauline Wekesa were reported to have had a domestic altercation on Tuesday evening after the latter had accused the former of infidelity what then degenerated into the shooting.

The man is reported to have then walked into his room, picked a Ceska Pistol and shot dead the wife before he turned the bloody gun to self.

According to Dundapost.com, the chilling incident took place on Tuesday evening of April 6 and was confirmed through a statement by the National Police Service NPS.

NPS stated that both Hudson Wakise and wife Pauline Wekesa all police officers had a domestic wrangle before the murder.

“Wakise briefly talked to his wife and they started exchanging bitter words. The wife was accusing him of infidelity. As a result, Wakise went out of the house and shortly returned in the sitting room. He suddenly drew out his Jericho pistol s/no. KP- 44333035 and fired several rounds at his wife’s chest killing her instantly. He then turned the firearm to himself and shot on his chin,” partly read police report.

Matiang’i too confirmed the incident saying his office will dig deep into the incident to unravel what exactly could have been the reason but again hinted at Psycho-social challenges affecting their men in uniform.

“I am deeply pained by the tragic incident involving PC Hudson Wakise and his wife PC Pauline Wekesa both young and vibrant Police officers with brilliant futures tragically ended in their shocking demise. It’s a rude awakening to psychosocial challenges amongst some of our…,” Matiang’i wrote.

Their bodies have since been moved to the Kenyatta University Mortuary where a postmortem is expected to be conducted.
