Sunday, July 10, 2022 –Presidential candidate at Roots Party Prof George Wajackoyah has vowed to first sack Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i when he takes office.
The party boss said his very first days in office will see him sacrifice Matiang’i and in his place taken by the current Directorate of Criminal Investigation DCI George Kinoti.
He was addressing this matter during his Meru County tour of Friday where he reiterated the need to oust Matinag’i from office feeling he his too much of himself.
“We want to deal with thieves of morale, the era of ‘wash wash’ and stealing public money and then you go telling people that you will be the next president. Kinoti is a man he has really tried to wrestle them though the issue has been politicised,” he said.
Wajackoyah argued that, of all the current State officers serving in Jubilee administration, Mr. Kinoti has done an exemplary job and must be continued.
“Am going to appoint Muthomi Thiankolu if he accepts to be the new attorney general in August. When Muthomi is there as the attorney general and Kinoti as CS Interior won’t I be able to do my job?” Wajackoyah posed.
He also took issue with Deputy President William Ruto for accusing him of being a project used to derail his journey to Statehouse.
Wajackoyah reasoned that it was wrong for the United Democratic Alliance UDA Party leader to start attacking him especially due to the fact that they launched a manifesto on the same day.
“I saw Ruto for the first time saying that I was ‘parachuted in’… don’t threaten me, continue threatening your other rivals, not me,” Wajackoyah added.
Ruto recently told KTN Tv that Prof. Wajackoyah was not a man on his own but a State-sponsored candidate sent with a purpose.
