Thursday, August 29, 2024 –Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has urged the country to remain patient for another year as he works to fix the economy.
Speaking in Nyanza where President William Ruto has pitched camp for days, Mbadi said the economy will start to show improvement in his second year in office.
“I will speak with you so that we resuscitate the economy. We just want one year and the economy will stabilise in the second year,” Mbadi noted.
On development of Nyanza region, the new Treasury CS said he will sit down with his boss William Ruto so that to discus how to penetrate electricity in the entire region.
He claimed that Nyanza Region has only 40 percent penetration instead of the required average of 76 percent.
“Penetration of power, we are at 40 percent instead of the average of 76 percent and, therefore, we will have inclusivity budget so that all people from here can also get their proper development”.
On his behalf, President Ruto assured Nyanza Region that the current government of national unity will ensure peace and stability and that he will work with everyone to ensure that happens.
“The progressive and inclusive politics we have adopted as a country ensures that no part of Kenya is left behind in development. This is the rationale behind the recent naming of a broad-based Cabinet,” Ruto remarked.
He seized the chance to plead with the residents of Luo Nyanza to support his government for the bigger picture of development.
President William Ruto with his entourage were welcomed with huge crowds chanting his songs throughout.
