Change of guard in Meru County as Isaac Mutuma M’Ethingia is sworn in as the fourth Governor, replacing Kawira Mwangaza, who was impeached after the High Court upheld her removal from office.
Though this is a decision she has since challenged at the Court of Appeal under a certificate of urgency in an attempt to halt the swearing-in.
Mwangaza has also announced her resignation from the United Democratic Alliance and intends to launch a new political party next week as she fights to overturn her ouster intensifies.
