Saturday, October 30, 2021 –Firebrand Lawyer Miguna Miguna is set to travel back to Kenya on November 16. He has confirmed the booking.
The Canadian-based lawyer on Friday October 29 announced having booked a flight back home saying he will be landing at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport JKIA in Nairobi, Kenya’s Capital City on November 16.
The booking, according to the rebellious lawyer, was done using the Kenyan Passport which he believes is valid to allow him back to the country. He also asked the State to remove any red alerts before that date.
“For the avoidance of any doubt, I have used my Kenya Passport to book my flight to Kenya, scheduled to arrive in the morning of November 16, 2021, at the JKIA. Let no one claim that I have used any other passport,” read Miguna’s statement on Friday.
The development is coming at the time the emeritus Chief Justice Willy Mutunga had indicated willingness to travel to Toronto Canada to pick the exiled lawyer back to the country.
This decision was squarely based on the active court orders allowing Miguna to comeback without any conditions which the State has constantly defied.
“After careful reflection and following broad consultations with lawyers, human rights and justice defenders, progressive politicians, and Mr Miguna himself, I have decided to travel to Toronto, Canada, to accompany Mr Miguna on his flight back to his motherland on 16 November 2021.” Mutunga tweeted afew days ago.
He went on to urge any other Kenyan who could be willing including journalists to volunteer accompanying him to Toronto Canada for the noble mission.
