Monday, May 15, 2023 –Lawyer Miguna Miguna has called out a section of media for claiming that he had been embarrassed in a local burial event held in his backyard of Oyugis, Homabay
Taking to his socials on Monday May 15 afternoon, Dr. Miguna picked on the Star publication which he described as a gutter press that always gets facts wrong.
“The Githeri Media is desperate. The MC announced that I had to speak first because I had another engagement in Kisumu. I spoke and left for that engagement.
“Just like the Homa Bay Women Rep. also had done. Your cheap lies didn’t make conman Raila Odinga President,” he responded.
Homenews.co.ke had a privilege to look at the said video in which he is being heckled and noticed that, in the clip, Dr. Miguna had addressed the funeral during which he attempted to attack ODM leader Raila Odinga for “denying” the Nyanza Region freedom of multiparty democracy.
In his address, Miguna maintained that it is time the community accepts that William Ruto is the legitimately elected president of Kenya.
“I say here that we must embrace multiparty democracy. And we must also accept that William Ruto is the president of Kenya whether you like it or not,” he asserted.
He also claimed that Odinga family had forced the region to subscribe to a single party, ODM, yet the multiparty democracy dictates otherwise.
“But right now, the people of Nyanza are not enjoying the fruits of independence because of one man called Raila Odinga. I have said it,” Miguna added as he handed over the microphone.
He would then get an immediate reaction from locals who, in the same video, can be heard clearly dressing him down as he walked away accompanied by a few individuals.
“Go away. You can’t compete with Raila Odinga. Raila is not your age mate. Goo!” the rowdy group was heard chanting in both Swahili and their Luo dialect as Miguna moved away.
Since being allowed back into the country, the lawyer promised to outmaneuver ODM Party in their Nyanza Region.
He maintained that his main agenda would be to liberate the Nyanza people from Raila Odinga’s type of politics.
