Tuesday, March 14, 2023 – Lawyer Miguna Miguna has warned President William Ruto against going into a truce – commonly called the Handshake – with the former powerful Cabinet Secretary, Dr. Fred Matiang’i.
Terming the move as tragic, Dr. Lawyer Miguna said should the viral Handshake news about this reunion be true, then Ruto risks being labeled by supporters as ‘another betrayer’.
“If true, this would be a tragic and horrible mistake. The millions of Kenyans who voted for@WilliamsRuto and @rigathi hate Fred Matiang’i and everything he represents: tyranny, looting, abuse of power and unbridled arrogance,” he wrote.
This reunion was first discussed in public when Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu and Kisii-born billionaire business mogul John Simba met Dr. Matiang’i on Sunday March 12 in Nairobi.
Cabinet Secretary Mr. Machogu chaired the Sunday afternoon meeting with Gusii leaders to enhance regional development.
“Fred Matiang’i and I will be hosting president William Ruto @WilliamsRuto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua @rigathi Thanksgiving ceremony at Gusii stadium. There is a need for inclusiveness,” A twitter handle @HonMachogu linked to CSMachogu updated the public
This meeting saw Dr. Matiang’i also attend just days after he had been dragged to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI headquarters over his home raid claims.
In the meeting, Machogu’s Kisii homecoming ceremony was made an agenda and word has it that Matiang’i will also be gracing the event.
Miguna’s bad blood with Matiang’i started during the Uhuru Kenyatta’s time when the police blew out his(Miguna’s) residence before forcefully dragging him out of the country.
