Friday, February 4, 2022 –Ruto-Musalia alliance is facing trust hurdles after it emerged that two camps are now clashing over ownership.
The mistrust, according to the Daily Nation, is being informed by the fact that Mudavadi wants their presidential candidate to use the Kenya Kwanza Coalition name; while Ruto and his allies believe in their United Democratic Alliance UDA Party.
The cracks are emerging barely two weeks after Mudavadi and Ruto announced their mega merger which they dubbed ‘the Bomas earthquake’.
A close source has leaked to the media that Mudavadi is demanding to be nominated as the presidential flagbearer under the Kenya Kwanza Alliance since he is the real owner of KKA, having reserved the name in 2021 when he was still a member of the One Kenya Alliance (OKA).
His desire, however, is not being received well by those allied to William Ruto who are pushing their boss to maintain UDA Party which already has a national outlook.
Kimilili lawmaker Didmus Barasa has already fired a first hard salvo at Mudavadi and Senator Malala saying UDA faction does not recognize Kenya Kwanza.
“We will only have a coalition agreement in which both parties will append their signatures.
“William Ruto will run for the presidency on a UDA ticket not Kenya Kwanza Alliance ticket,” Barasa stated.
It will therefore be interesting to see how this new development pans out in days to come.
