More Arrested as Crackdown on Dangerous Gang Intensifies in Kakamega

Monday, November 28, 2022 –More and more dreaded Mbogi la Izram Territory criminal gang are being arrested as search for the crooks intensifies around Kakamega Town and its environs.

On Sunday November 27, two more suspects – Omar Juma 35 and Clinton Emonye 21 – were cornered and nabbed by police officers following a tip off.

The crooks were nabbed in the ongoing targeted crackdown in the larger Western Region where the gang seems to be quickly morphing up into a dangerous unit that kills at will.

They two criminals were arrested at Julika Petrol Station near Webuye Bus Stage in Kakamega Town while loaded with crude weapons – pangas, metal rods, clutters and sharp knives.

On arrest, they led the detectives to their house located at Kakoi corner close to Kabras Market where assorted electronics and household goods were recovered.

“We believe all these items were stolen from innocent citizens some who have been killed,” police reported.

The arrested gang members are currently being held at Kakamega Central Police Station pending arraignment in court.

Police announced that a comprehensive security crackdown is ongoing in Western Kenya and parts of Nyanza so that to wipe out the gangs that have threatened the public safety and security of locals.
