Wednesday, September 25, 2024 –Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has not forgiven Deputy President Rigathi Gachgua as sections have been claiming.
Addressing the reports on Tuesday evening, Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni dismissed the story saying there has never been any truce meeting between Uhuru and DP Gachagua as claimed.
The former Ndaragwa lawmaker told the second-in-command to respect other people’s decisions just like they respect his.
“Anyone going around the country claiming that he asked for forgiveness and has been forgiven is a liar. Uhuru has not met any of them and has not held any discussions with them,” Kioni stated.
He reminded Gachagua of his insults during campaigns and even after Uhuru had peacefully handed over the instruments of power at Kasarani Stadium.
“Did they seek permission when they were abusing him? Then why are they engaging him now? Let them not drag Uhuru into their menace,” he added.
Wading into the debate about impeachment of the deputy president, Mr. Kioni observed that that this remains a ‘wait and see moment’ because MPs can promise to show up in Parliament on the fateful day only to keep of the from the exercise at the eleventh hour.
