Wednesday, October 2, 2024 –A young woman in Kakamega took her own life after losing a whopping sh 60,000 in aviator game.
Confirming the incident on Wednesday October 2, Kambiri area chief revealed that the deceased was found dead inside her Kakamega town shop.
A customer who was with the diseased during the fateful hours, narrated that the business lady was, somewhat, disturbed moments to her death.
“We moved to her shop and continued with our conversation only to later realise that she is now dead,” narrated the customer.
Another witness who was close to her admitted that the victim was a daily gambler who could risk any amount in a day.
“She used to participate in gambling using her phone only to lose Ksh60,000 but the problem is that she kept quiet about it leading to her death,” revealed another witness as quoted in a local digital outlet.
Area chief has asked residents not to rely much on gambling and urged those who could be struggling with the sport to share their challenges with friends and relatives so that to save more lives.
“To all the Kambiri residents, I want to urge them that in case they have a problem they should seek help and express themselves freely. Try and talk to your neighbour,” said the area chief.
A similar situation took place in Nyamira County when a high school teacher lost staggering amounts of money in a gambling sport.
The teacher was discovered dead in his room after he had missed classes for days.
