Friday, July 30, 2021 -Another Tangatanga member Didmus Barasa has slapped a local contractor during a public function in his area.
The MP on Friday July 30 slapped the contractor Stephen Masinde alias singer Steve Kay who had renovated five classes and was demanding a whopping sh 3.4 million from the CDF kitty.
In the horrific video which is still trending hot online, the Kimilili lawmaker wearing his signature red hat is seen raising his hand and slapping the contractor hard in the face after he(Stephen) had demanded his fair share of dues.
This scuffle began when Barasa landed at the venue – Baptist Lurare Primary School – through his black Prado ready to launch the five classes but found them locked. He then sought to know who had locked them before the contractor surfaced asking for his dues and that is when the melee ensued.
Stephen narrated that the MP has never picked his calls and anytime he happens to pick he only hurls insults at him and therefore the only way out was to find him today during the launch.
“When we asked the MP to pay us he says that he does not pay contractors half of their money but he pays them full and he will do so and we shouldn’t be worried.
“I have closed this classes because they cannot begin to operate without me being paid as they will be spoiled by children and he might end up refusing to pay me completely,” stated the contractor according to Citizen TV.
The lawmaker would later surface in another function with a mockery explanation of what had ensued between him and the contractor who is also a local singer.
On his part, Headteacher at the school said they were satisfied with the work done by the contractor and it would be good if the matter would be settled amicably so that they can start using the classes.
