Mathira Member of parliament Rigathi Gachagua on Tuesday June 22 while debating with MP John Mbadi on NTV news opined that it will be hard for Uhuru to front Hon. Raila Odinga because their Kikuyu community will reject that proposal on arrival.

He added that Mr. Odinga and his team mates better know this early so that they can start planning ahead of time for the next elections slated only 12 months away.

“Let me tell John Mbadi that President Kenyatta will not support Raila Odinga for Presidency. And he being the ODM Chairman, he should be aware that there is a list of ODM Members who meet secretly with DP Ruto for a political plans ahead of 2022,” Gachagua stated.

The Mathira legislator maintained that only Ruto is acceptable in their region and even any other Kikuyu from that region will not be allowed to be the 5^th President.

He was speaking this on NTV where they were hosted by James Smart. Mbadi however insisted that the purpose of the Handshake was much more than the 2022 succession fights.

He took the opportunity to school Rigathi on the need to unite and accommodate each other despite differences in views and ethnicity.
