Wednesday, April 14, 2021 -Mathira Member of Parliament Rigathi Gachagua has claimed that Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya is now part of Tangatanga team.
Speaking on the recent development where the former Council of Governors met with the second in command in a hotel, MP Rigathi divulged how that was not the first meeting between the two. He added that Oparanya and Ruto have been holding so many other private meetings with plans to see him ditch ODM Party.
The DP’s top confidant added that the first ever meeting between the duo was held in 2019 followed by another in 2020 and that all the meetings ended well.
“That meeting between Ruto and Oparanya is the 4th meeting in a row. We have been meeting Oparanya and I have been present in two previous meetings. He approached us in the year 2019 and 2020 wanting to join the hustler nation,” Gachagua divulged.
It has also emerged that though the past meetings didn’t bear much fruits, it was the recent one that Oparanya finally agreed to join Ruto.
“It is only now that he has agreed. Those meetings were held in private, he didn’t want them publicized but now he is ready and the last meeting was at his request and didn’t mind it being publicized because he is ready to come to us,” Gachagua noted.
He made it clear that there was no plans to reunite Odinga with Ruto and that nothing like that has been part of their agenda.
Speaking on the same matter, Turkana Governor Josephat Nanok claimed that Ruto and Oparanya were planning something together and it is just a matter of time before the lid is lifted.
