Tuesday, March 29, 2022 –MP Esther Passaris convoy was on Tuesday badly destroyed by angry residents who have since rejected her over under-performance claims.
The Tuesday March 29 incident saw the Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party elected Woman Representative face a hostile crowd that blocked her convoy and pelted the truck with boulders damaging not only its wind screen but also tires and the body.
“Material things can be replaced. All Glory to God. Awaiting swift action by the Police to arrest perpetrators; two brothers and a woman. Women should be able to campaign and feel safe along the trail,” she lamented over the loss.
The incident left many leaders among them Nairobi Governor Anne Kananu weigh in saying things could be going out of hand if authorities do not take immediate action to stop this madness meted against women seeking elective seats.
“What happened to @EstherPassaris and her convoy cannot, should not, and ought not to happened in a civilized country like ours. Thuggerism and intimidation of political figures should be condemned in the strongest terms possible,” Governor Kananu wrote.
During the ugly confrontation, keys to one of her campaign cars was taken away as well as several windscreens damaged.
In the video which Homenews.co.ke received on the news desk, residents could be heard ordering her to alight from the truck so that she could show them what she had achieved in the 5 year period she has been in power.
“Shuka chini…shuka chini kuja hapa utuonyeshe ni nini umetufanyia miaka tano yote umekuwa kwa bunge,” a lady goon can be heard shouting.
Her attempts to calm down the rowdy goons could not do much as she was drowned in their chaos that lasted for over 20 minutes leaving behind a lot of damage.
