Monday, April 25, 2022 –Member of Parliament Timothy Wanyonyi will be taking a break from city politics to reflect on what best next move he can take.
The Westlands Member of Parliament will have to remain silent at home for a period of two weeks to look at what best next move he can make after the Raila Odinga-led Party ODM advised him to drop his gubernatorial ambitions for Polycarp Igathe and Philip Kaloki.
His chief of protocol, Lawyer Alutalala Mukhwana, noted that the politician will be weighing all the options on the table and see whether it was still making sense to vie for governor position or defend his Westlands seat.
The legal advisor added that the option of sticking with Azimio-One Kenya alliance is also part of what is on the table for the ODM MP.
Further, MP Wanyonyi could opt to join Kenya Kwanza and run on a joint ticket with Senator Sakaja to clinch the Nairobi seat.
“Mheshimiwa is going to make an announcement in the next two weeks on his next move,” Mukhwana stated.
Speaking on the Igathe Philip-Kaloki ticket, Lawyer Mukhwana simply said the duo represented wishes of the minority and not majority around the city.
“They have forced him out of the race in favour of a political novice who represents capitalistic interests,” stated Mukhwana.
Mr. Wanyonyi recently met with Senator Sakaja in a Nairobi hotel in a meeting that caught everyone unawares raising speculations on what the two could be upto.
It would later be disclosed that the two city politicians were looking at the possibility of working together for the residents of Nairobi city.
“It is clear in their mantras, Sakaja’s being Let’s Make Nairobi Work and Tim’s being Sio Mimi, Ni Sisi, both allude that it is about the people and that resolve cuts across the political divide.
“Sakaja’s deputy will be unveiled in the next coming days,” the source disclosed.
So far Igathe will be facing off with Senator Sakaja of United Democratic Alliance UDA Party in the August 9 polls.
